IBM's Tech Re-Entry program develops talented technical professionals who are looking to restart their careers after an absence from the workforce of two years or more. This paid 12-week internship enables participants to work on projects that match their expertise, interests, and abilities and could lead to full-time employment.
In the same way, an internship offers a guided period of exploration, the IBM Tech Re-entry internship program provides participants with an opportunity to update their skills in a work environment that may have significantly changed since their last experience. Interns will have access to the latest tools and technologies available and work alongside a multi-disciplinary team of engineers and business professionals to hone their expertise and focus on the next generation of software. The program will also provide the opportunity to experience the breadth of IBM resources while developing new relationships.

Business Unit Introduction:
IBM Global Technology Services (GTS) helps clients plan, implement and manage an efficient, resilient, flexible IT infrastructure. IBM GTS is the partner of choice for infrastructure services – be it transformational outsourcing tied to business outcomes or integrated managed services or discrete services.
Who You are:
- Java developer, you'll play an important role in developing codes, DevOps Development Practice You will work alongside talented design professionals to build on your skill set.
What you’ll do:
Proficient in Core Java with a good knowledge of its ecosystems.
Solid understanding of object-oriented programming
Experience in JDBC/API
Experience with WebServices RESTful/SOAP
Experience with RDBMS like DB2, Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server.
Experience with Application Servers (e.g WAS/Liberty)
Good working knowledge on data structures using XML , XSLT, JSON
Proficient understanding of code version tools, such as GIT/SVN.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Minimum 3+ years of experience in IT Compliance /security - Automation & Cognitive Delivery
Experience in application Lifecycle Management. Have end to end SDLC experience and expertise along with continuous Build and Deploy automation
Proven operational Intelligence of Applications and Infrastructure, Infrastructure as Code
Proficient in Kanban methodologies in a continuous delivery environment and Software as a Solution (SaaS), production support, IT Service Management
Expertise with DevOps practice and associated toolchains for code versioning, build, deploy, testing, monitoring
Deep understanding with one or more of the following - Chef, Puppet, Ansible
Preferred Tech and Prof Experience
Validated knowledge in REST API's, Web Services, SOA and associated data format - JSON/Yaml
Proven ability in Dockers and Containers - hands on experience with set up / deployment
You love collaborative environments that use agile methodologies to encourage creative design thinking and find innovative ways to develop with cutting edge technologies
Ambitious individual who can work under their own direction towards agreed targets/goals and with creative approach to work
Intuitive individual with an ability to manage change and proven time management
