At Volvo Powertrain we are currently looking for 4 new Development Engineers in 4 different areas :
• HVAC & Fluid Systems
• Load Systems for Powertrain & Drivetrain Testing
• Measurement Equipment & Sensors for Automotive
• Mechanical Installation for Automotive Testing

The new laboratory will become a cornerstone in supporting the development of competitive products with cutting edge technology and as Development Engineer you will play an important part in our investment program.
We can offer you an interesting and exciting experience, where you will be involved in the development of facilities and equipment to be able to meet new demands in testing of engines, transmissions, hybrids, batteries and complete drivelines.
This is what you will do in each specific area:
HVAC & Fluid Systems
Understand the product project, test object, requirements and in co-operation with equipment suppliers finding technical solutions for new equipment and methods. You will also support the realization and commissioning of investment projects. You will, among other things, also deepen your knowledge within the field of test object conditioning systems, fluid supplies, combustion air with humidity control, HVAC and fluid systems infrastructure etc.
Load Systems for Powertrain & Drivetrain Testing
Understand existing and future requirements on test equipment and needed methods. You will co-operate with equipment suppliers finding technical solutions and be part of the realization and commissioning of new equipment. You will also, among other things, develop specialist knowledge within the field of electrical load systems (dynamometer systems, battery simulators, etc.) and rig electronics (measurements, signal handling, I/O and PLC-systems) etc.
Measurement Equipment & Sensors for Automotive
Understand existing and future requirements on test equipment and needed methods. During your work with this investment program you will, among other things, develop deeper understanding of sensors for pressure, temperature, torque, liquid and gas flow and fluids consumption measurement and rig electronics (measurements, signal handling, I/O and PLC-systems) etc.
Mechanical Installation for Automotive Testing
Understand the product project, (test object), requirements and in co-operation/communication with equipment suppliers finding technical solutions and secure existing common standards. You will also support the realization and commissioning of investment projects. During your work you will develop deeper understanding of Mechanical installations of test objects (engine, transmission and electro-mobility), base plates & foundations, mechanical safety & protection etc.

Depending on which area you will work in the requirements differ slightly for the role. In general we believe that you have experience in working as development engineer preferably in the automotive sector within one of the above mentioned areas. Other requirements are:
• Engineering degree from university
• Have been involved in investment projects and specification work for purchasing of new equipment is seen as a merit
We also believe that you are a person who contribute to a positive atmosphere with an open and honest attitude. You are structured in your work, goal oriented, flexible and have an open mind and interest to learn.
