Powertrain Production is part of Group Trucks Operations, we have about 8 000 employees. Powertrain production is one of the world's largest manufacturers of heavy-duty diesel engines for commercial vehicles. We provide diesel engines and transmission systems to the Volvo Group. Powertrain production also remanufacture, renovate a range of products for example remanufactured engines and transmission components, factory renovated engines and assembly of new components & new engines. We have facilities in Charlotte, Curitiba, Flen, Hagerstown, Köping, Limoges, Middletown, Skövde and Vénissieux.
We are looking for a great Plant manager
We are looking for a Leader that will continue the culture change journey that we are on. Building trust through involvement, collaboration and the development of people. Create ownership, initiative and autonomy through serving the organization and using our Volvo Production System (VPS) as an enabler for success.
Your main focus and responsibility is to deliver result in the Hagerstown plant, but you are also a member of the Powertrain Production Management team where you have a responsibility to manage the diversity of the total Powertrains industrial footprint and making decisions that support the overall Operational Strategy in Powertrain Production.
The plant in Hagerstown is a team of 1800 members, combining Technology, Purchasing and Operations on one Campus. We blend powertrain engineering & innovation with lean manufacturing and automation. We develop and produce the heart of the vehicle for all North America group Brands: Volvo Trucks, Mack Trucks, Volvo Bus and Prevost.
In this position you report to Senior Vice President, Powertrain Production.
Lead and inspire the plant management team and indirect all leaders and co-worker to continue the change journey, meaning leading by example, create trust, increase collaboration and develop people and organization
You also have the responsibility to develop a midterm vision and evaluate and take decisive action on the progress of plant objectives. Plan and organize the facility manufacturing programs and activities to meet operating targets and strategies
Managing the development and implementation of VPS , ensure ongoing development of the whole organization. Focus on growing competencies within the plant in order to secure efficiency and preparedness of organization for the future
Financial budgeting and control of plant leverage initiatives and break even targets is also part of your responsibilities
The Plant Manager in Hagerstown is representing Powertrain in the “Extended Executive Leadership Team in US, led by the President for Mack Trucks.

You are an effective business leader. You lead through our values trust, passion, customer success, change and performance. This means abroad knowledge of global manufacturing as well as good understanding of the commercial vehicle industry and business analyses as you are in direct contact with the market company.

You probably hold a University/Master’s Degree or equivalent in Business or Mechanical Engineering. You have a previous record of leadership success and driving change. We also believe that you have a solid manufacturing experience, with at least 5 at a senior level.
