Reporting to one of the America’s Network Engineering Managers - which is part of the CATE Citi Network Platform Engineering domain, the position is for a network engineer / load balancer technical specialist.Citi run mainly Cisco, Arista & Juniper for routing and Citrix / F5 for load balancers.
The CATE Citi Network Platform Engineering group is a global team that provides standards, strategy, architectural solutions and lower level technical design support to all businesses across Citigroup as well as being involved in developing strategic enterprise shared services solutions to be used by the Investment Bank, Consumer Bank, and Corporate businesses. The team is responsible for the strategic technology direction/roadmaps and platform hosting stack within the whole organization.
The architecture & engineering team focuses on making sure that solutions are correctly aligned with Citigroup business objectives, standards and processes. This entails taking responsibility for all technical design within their area. This role is more focused on the development/engineering aspects although the individual would come from a strong network design or network development/application background.
• Participate in cloud related strategies from a networking / LB point of view.
• Automation of key network services like VIP, DNS, network config +• Overall platform solution certification (router, switches, Load Balancers, VmWare++)
• Develop cloud related strategies, reference architectures, and technology roadmaps for IaaS (Infrastructure as a Service), PaaS (Platform as a Service) and SaaS (Software as a Service) solutions across public, private and hybrid delivery models.
• Working closely with clients to ensure successful delivery of projects.
• Working with other Engineering teams and TI departments to provide solutions to the business.
• Liaise and work with Citigroup’s strategic technology partners when required.

Good understanding of various infrastructure areas such as Server, Virtualization, Storage, Infrastructure Applications, Database and Middleware, Network and Security
Good understanding of Hybrid Cloud knowledge (AWS, Azure, Google)
Good understanding of Vmware and especially NSX.
6-10 years of load balancer platforms (F5, Citrix, AVI ++)
6-10 years of general networking and programming skills.
Good understanding API based automation as well as scripting to test APIs
6-10 years of network protocols, and their applications and characteristic behaviors
Understanding in Network Security a plus.
Ability to think strategically and evaluate options in the short, medium and long term.
Ability to cope in a technically complex and fast-changing environment, and to respond calmly and rationally to changing aspirations in a deadline-driven situation.
