This position will report to the Administrator of State Building Division and assist in the implementation, training, support and software maintenance of a construction management system.
Hours: M-F, 8-5
Examples of Work
This position will determine operational objectives by constructing workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities & business practices; writing specifications and developing training documents. Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements. This position will also monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving software problems; managing security and system access; publishing progress reports and recommending resolutions. Using skills and experiences at an advanced level to create IT solutions using real time data, report development and presenting that information to leadership and stakeholders, enabling State Building Division to better meet their goals.
Qualifications / Requirements
REQUIREMENTS: Experience in the analysis of business processes and system requirements, and the creation of business process solutions for large-scale business system applications.
PREFERRED: Bachelor's degree in computer science, network administration, information systems management, information technology, project management or related field with 3-5 year's in programming, training and software support experience.
OTHER: Traveling required 15% -20% of the time, along with some overnight stays
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Solid understanding of business functional areas, business management issues and data analysis. Exceptional written and oral communication, including technical writing skills. Leadership, initiative and advanced computer skills, including programming experience. Training staff in how to use the new systems. Understanding of systems engineering concepts. Modeling techniques and methods. Detail oriented, analytical and inquisitive. Ability to work independently and with others. Extremely organized with strong time-management skills. Experience in preparing technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends. Conduct and coordinate financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within State Building Division. Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports. Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes. Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement.
