About Transmission and Distribution

Southern California Edison’s (SCE's) Transmission and Distribution Organizational Unit (T & D) is responsible for planning, engineering, constructing, operating, and maintaining transmission and distribution facilities throughout the 50,000-square-mile territory. T&D is the steward of roughly $19 billion in assets that safely and reliably deliver electricity to 15 million residents via SCE’s 5 million customer accounts.

Position Overview

The Quality Control Advisor will be in the Quality Control department within Southern California Edison’s (SCE’s) Transmission & Distribution Organization Unit (T&D). The successful candidate will function as the technical subject matter expert for the development and implementation of the quality control database programs while performing scope and reporting responsibilities.

Typical Responsibilities:

  • Develop, maintain, and administer QC database programs.

  • Responsible for the department’s data administration including data and photo storage management.

  • Administers the QC SharePoint team site.

  • Investigates new SCE approved technologies to determine if they can be used to streamline or replace existing QC data processes.

  • Creates new and maintains existing QC Data Governance Job Aids.

  • Perform data analysis and generate program reports.

  • Maintain a safety conscious work environment by following Edison safety protocols and safe work practices.

  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • Seven or more years’ of experience in performing analysis, consulting, and providing recommendations.

  • Three or more years’ of experience in developing and/or maintaining databases.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).

  • Experience with SAS, SAP Business Objects, and ArcPro.

Desired Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree.

  • Experience working with accident prevention manuals, electric transmission and distribution construction and design standards, CPUC G.O 95, 128 and 165 and the related operations and maintenance manuals.

  • Experience with Quality Control processes and procedures.

  • Generating reports and analyzing data.

  • Developing and delivering technical training.

  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information, both orally and in writing, to technical and nontechnical personnel.

  • Ability to plan, organize, coordinate, and schedule multiple tasks with minimal supervision and adjust to changing priorities.

  • Experience performing in-depth analysis and developing recommendation to address customer and business issues.

  • Analyzing data to create reports.

  • Experience using written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing and presenting technical and business information in formal and informal settings.

  • Effective resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.

  • Experience interfacing effectively with clients, peers, and all levels of management.

  • This position has been identified as a NERC/CIP impacted position - Prior to being hired, the successful candidate must pass a Personnel Risk Assessment (PRA) or Background Investigation. Once hired, the candidate must complete specified training prior to gaining un-escorted access to assigned work location and performing necessary job duties.
