SC Department of Public Safety Benefits Manager - Internal Only in Richland County, South Carolina

This position is available only to current employees of the SC Public Employee Benefit Authority.

As a member of the Customer Intake center, conduct visitor and telephone consultations with retirement system members, non-members, and beneficiaries and/or consultations with insurance subscribers, dependents, and beneficiaries. Research inquiries and respond both verbally and in writing. Conduct account research and collaborate with other departments in the evaluation and resolution of problems and discrepancies. Assist in providing coverage for the receptionist. Minimum and Additional Requirements: A Bachelor's degree and experience in retirement and/or insurance programs. Preferred Qualifications: Extensive knowledge and experience in laws, regulations, policies, and business practices applicable to the retirement systems and/or insurance programs of the SC Public Employee Benefit Authority. Ability to explain complex retirement and/or insurance issues. Ability to communicate effectively in oral and written form. Ability to read, understand, interpret and articulate statutes and other relevant written materials.
