IBM Q is seeking a Hardware Engineer candidate capable of working with evolving specifications and requirements.

We are looking for experienced engineers to work with IBM Research and IBM Systems teams. Projects may include test, characterization and analysis of quantum processors, development of next generation quantum processors, characterization of quantum systems, bringing-up and support of complex quantum systems

The ideal candidate will have experience with semiconductor and/or superconductor fabrication, device design and characterization of such devices, test structure design, ability to work in a lab environment with a range of microwave electronics and test equipment. You will work on developing, characterization, testing and study of quantum devices, apparatus, and controls to be used in multi-qubit architectures with high fidelity. You will have fundamental expertise in RF-engineering or experimental techniques, measurements, microwave engineering, and have basic understanding of superconducting qubits. You are expected to be capable of carrying out research, and engineering tasts as part of a collaborative team.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Bachelors degree in Physics, Electrical Engineering or related fields

  • Experience working with or/and leading hardware engineering and development teams

  • Expertise and hands-on experience in data analysis, device characterization and design of experiments

  • Advanced skill level in solving analytical problems using rigorous and quantitative approaches

  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in the organization and facilitating decision-making

  • Experience and ability to deliver in a time-constrained environment

Preferred Tech and Prof Experience

• PhD in Electrical Engineering or Physics or related technical fields

• Deeper knowledge of quantum computing, qiskit design, fabrication, test & characterization
